GOLD PARTICIPANT Sir Thomas Riches’ School I feel that Off Grid Adventures met our every need from training us to ensuring that the skills we acquired were relevant and lasting. I really enjoyed the fun, and excitable manner by which the instructors treated us. It made me feel part of a team rather than just some people doing it for an award. I also enjoyed how patient the instructors were with us, especially on the first few days when we were novices, and how they were able to explain tasks to us in digestible and clear ways, so we all had the skills we needed. Finally, the instructors were exuberant and overwhelmingly friendly towards us all, and always maintained a positive outlook: they clearly wanted to get to know us as people rather than just ‘more people doing an award’, and that shone through.
